What To Wear On NYE
New Years Eve can go one of two ways, it's either going to be the best night of your life or it's going to be an anti-climax. With Christmas over, there's still plenty of reasons to celebrate, we're on the verge of 2017, a year that promises so much and can be what you make it. So how do you dress for the big night? Well that depends entirely on where you're going and who you're going to be seeing the new year in with.
The Romantic Dinner
We all have that one friend that shuns the big night out with the lads for a candlelit dinner for two with his other half. If you're that guy then you're going to need to dress to impress and there's no better way to do it than with the help of a Velour blazer a button up shirt. The textures and tonal colours give a real expensive look whilst maintaining a certain level of casual - you don't want to look like you're fresh from the office.
The Big Night Out
The issue with having a big night out on NYE is that everywhere charges entry, drinks are more expensive and every single door will have a queue. Whilst the fact that everywhere is guaranteed to be busy isn't exactly a bad thing, you can often end up spending more time waiting around than you do actually enjoying yourself. Dress smart but stay comfortable - skinny jeans and chelsea boots are a good option as you're likely to struggle getting past the bouncer in a pair of trainers. It's still going to be freezing though so grab an overcoat to finish it off.
The Cosy Night In
The cheapest, and often best, option for NYE is to stay in. Get your mates around for a few drinks and watch the new year come in on TV with the international firework displays as each timezone hits midnight. The best part of doing this is that you don't have to get dressed up and you can keep it casual in a tracksuit, there's no queuing or dress codes so it's totally up to you.
