The Premier League was finally back after the dreaded winter international break and with it a few shock results along the way.  Aside from Sunderland’s awakening against Hull, a few last-minute bangers stole the show. 

5. Spurs stay unbeaten, Kane doubles up.

Spurs delivered a hammer blow and nailed West Ham firmly to the foot of the table thanks to an injury time double from talisman Harry Kane. A dejected Iron’s fan blamed the result on Bilic’s awful moves on the touchline.

4. Is Sunderland’s annual escape starting early?

Every year Sunderland seem to do the impossible and catapult themselves out of the drop zone to avoid Championship football. After a convincing 3-0 win against Hull and Defoe finally hitting 150 goals, we could be forgiven for believing forces were at play. Was that you Big Sam? 

3. Toure serves up a feast.

After weeks of angst in Camp Yaya, the giant Ivorian finally made his PL comeback and boy did he come back with a bang. Some have called it a masterstroke in man management; we just think it was Toure making Pep eat his words.

2. Liverpool’s midfield shouldn’t visit the South Coast

What a week it’s been for Liverpool on the south coast. Firstly two of their men get caught in a strip club and then the Saints do this. Whether Klopp allows his boys to drink like devils is yet to be seen, but we’d be wary of taking them to Bournemouth in a couple of weeks.
