Wildlife Festival ft. boohooMAN
We got Lotan Carter, 'Dreamboy' and general cool guy, to represent boohooMAN at wildlife festival. Keep reading to find out what he wore, who he saw and what his favourite parts of the event were. Handing over to Lotan... Lotan Carter x boohooMANThe atmosphere was incredible, the staff were great and people were friendly. I’ll try to keep this as minimal as possible but I can’t make any promises as I have lots to show you!Outfit by BoohooMan I love a long line fitted top, reason for this is I stand 5″9 with a 44inch chest. I find that long line gives me a leaner look together with the Skinny Knee Ripped Jeans, rather than looking like a meat head! The colour and style combined makes this a key piece in my collection and I’m forever dressing down to dress up, so this Longline Destroyed Jumper combined with the Skinny Knee Ripped and the Chelsea boots were a winner for me, no question. Longline again, this Asymmetric Black vest is simple and well fitted (perfect festival wear) and can easily be dressed up. This item is definitely one of my favourite pieces from this outfit. Summer time I live in vests, so I’m always on the lookout for best fit and style.Finishing touches The ActsMy highlight for the afternoon had to be Busta Rhymes! I’ve always appreciated the talent of the man and it was great to see those ten years my junior having that same appreciation. No joke… it went OFF! His performance was energetic, stage presence was great and charisma was infectious. Buss Buss you owned it! Going into the evening I was happy to chill, have drink and watch Annie Mac on the Main Stage, blessed by the weather and taking in the atmosphere, totally content as I awaited the headlining act Disclosure.Nothing short of show stopping, I continuously tried to capture this performance on camera but even with so many pictures I can’t depict the electric ambience! Disclosure came on and tore it up for over 90 mins, people were being crowd surfed to the press pit where I was stood. I was hyped, Wildlife festival has made a fan of me. In the words of Paul Weller, “That’s entertainment” I had a great time and it didn’t for a second feel like work. Wildlife ft boohooMAN it’s been epicLotan CarterWant more check him out on social
GQ's Best Dressed
GQ’s list of the best dressed men is out and we couldn’t agree more. From actors to grime stars, to sporting the smartest suits to DGAF style. Where do you stand? Here’s our fave 5.1. Skepta. The grime artist has been a style hero since his rave days. He stays relatable to his audience and true to himself. Mixing designer with high street, this guy knows how to style a look.2. Olly Alexander. The Years and Years frontman’s style encompasses that young free feeling, mixing colours and prints, he has fun with fashion. His style is truly attainable. 3. Eddie Redmayne. No list of 2015 is complete without Eddie. It really was his year. His acting knows no bounds and we’re beginning to see this with his style too. He rocks a suit effortlessly. 4. Harry Styles. The guy has really grown into a style maven. He rocks catwalk looks with confidence and is a true trend setter for his generation.5. James Bay. Much like the other guys in the list, he knows what he likes and he sticks to it. Keeping his staples in check, he exudes casual cool with his love of a printed shirt. Plus, this guy knows how to rock a fedora.
This week we pulled boohooMAN Designer, James, away from the studio to get his edit from the AW15/16 collection. Here are his 5 key pieces for the season. PANELED SWEATER – Seen a lot on the catwalk over the past few season’s designers such as Neil Barrett are paving the way for cool cut & sew product. Interesting seam lines adding pattern and shape to the garment allows for the basic sweat to be not so basic. PANELED JOGGERS – No longer a staple of the streets the Joggers (skinny fit remains fundamental) can be dressed up or down in today’s ever changing world of fashion. Whether paired with a smart shirt for a smarter-urban mix or paired with a matching sweat for a lounge-set the panelled jogger is now a staple which should be pride of place in every man’s wardrobe. BOILER SUIT – Seen a lot of the summer season the boiler suit or “woven onesie” remains key for me. A new style for menswear never really seen before it’s taking the traditional work wear aesthetic and again moving it into something new, cool and contemporary. With varying fabric options and styles available on the market for me the utility/military feel of the boohooMAN option hits the mark. BIKER JACKET – Although Jackets change with trend and season there are few who remain constant within the menswear market. The biker jacket for me hits all the marks this season. Incorporating Zip details, Asymmetric lines, panelled details and once again the ability to dress the piece for both a smarter and casual setting the biker is no longer purely for those of us who are members of “Hells Angels” but is now a strong competitor for the MA1. SMART JOGGERS – Key for the Winter Season by mixing formal and casual for an interesting combination. It’s a way of maintaining a smarter tailored edge but with a contemporary modern twist on the traditional skinny smart trouser. Cuffed ankle hem is the way forward!
If there's one thing that should care of where your wardrobe's concerned, it's the basics. Your jersey essentials can pretty much make or break an outfit, because let's face it, it doesn't matter how good your outfit looks if you've got an old not-quite-white-anymore t-shirt on underneath. The boohooMAN jersey essentials are perfect for making sure you never fall foul of the fashion faux-pas, and with so many options, there's something for every outfit. The T-ShirtsIf you're anything like us, you probably wear a t-shirt every single day, so you're going to need a lot of them. At least a couple in white, black & grey but then why not experiment with some colour? You're not always going to layer up under a hoodie or a flannel shirt, so sometimes the classic white t-shirt isn't enough to give you that pop. The SweatersAn all-American classic. The sweater has been around for decades as a menswear wardrobe staple and there's plenty of reasons why, none more so than it just looks good. A grey marl sweater and a pair of stonewash jeans is second to none. Layering under a denim jacket for a day out? Oversized and washed out for a night out? Pumping iron at the gym? There's a sweater for all of them. The HoodiesThe hoodie is the ultimate cosy essential but is no longer just weekend-wear; they've well and truly invaded the runway. Whether you like them oversized, longline, distressed or just as they come, we've got something that ticks all the boxes. Try layering it underneath a longline checked shirt with some distressed jeans and chelsea boots for a street-ready look, or matching joggers to keep things casual. The JoggersWhat used to be an indoors-only kind of thing has now become an streetwear staple. With so many different fits available, the trusty jogger is just as reliable as jeans & chinos. Keep things simple with a basic pair or go for a little more detail with some biker knee detailing. For a look a little different to joggers and a hoodie, try a smart fit with a plain crew neck tee and an overcoat or parka.
