boohooMAN of the Moment - Boyd Holbrook
As the years roll by, more and more actors are beginning their careers by starring in on demand shows, funded by the likes of Netflix & Amazon, and this week's boohooMAN of The Moment is no exception. Enter Boyd Holbrook, star of Netflix's Narcos and 20th Century Fox's epic sequel to Wolverine, Logan, in cinemas March 1st.
Holbrook has been around a lot longer than you'd think, and is also surprisingly well-versed in the fashion sector. His career began in the early 2000's, initially as a model, and at the age of 20 he was quickly snapped up by the likes of Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein and Moschino, to name a few.
Whilst his fashion roots were very much planted down, his on-screen career only really kickstarted in 2015 as Netflix aired their docu-drama Narcos, which follows the life and times of the late Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Holbrook plays Steve Murphy, the detective tasked with catching Escobar and his Medellín Cartel.
Despite all this, Holbrook's role in Logan is by far his biggest yet, and it looks as though it may be a real break for the Kentucky-born 35-year-old. He stars as Donald Pierce, the quintessential leather-overcoat-wearing-tattooed-gunslinging-badboy, tasked with stealing 11-year-old Laura Kinney (otherwise known as X-23), who looks to be the first mutant born in over two decades. Pierce & Logan lock horns on several occasions, with explosive results.
Anyway, back to looking good. Teaming a simple pair of skinny jeans with a band tee and statement leather, demin or bomber jacket, Holbrook's effortless style both on and off screen can easily be translated to your wardrobe. Fancy it? We've picked out a few key pieces below for you to enjoy.
